When I first heard about Navalny’s work, I was rushing to a PSC meeting. I knew he existed but I was not aware of his endurance. His fight against Putin’s regime, and in favour of democracy left him poisoned with Novichok.
When I spoke against the way the EU was imposing sanctions on Russia, I knew from the outset, that most of the proposed sanctions did not take into consideration the names mentioned in Navalny’s list.
The reason for not taking Navalny’s list as the basis of targeted sanctions is still unknown.
However, Navalny is not dead. He is still alive amongst those fighting for democracy. His legacy will live on for years.
Thank you Alexei,
Sincere condolences to the family.
